Outer wilds eye of the universe6/24/2023 ![]() It's only the prisoner's actions that set in place the set of circumstances that lead to you the player finally being able to go to the eye and thus create a new universe. The great irony of their actions is that they were correct in saying that the eye would bring the end of the universe, but they didn't realize that the eye would also bring the creation of the next universe. He took down the device, but only for a small period, and this is the brief period the Nomai used to warp to the eye. The prisoner disagreed with the rest of his race and thought that the eye's signal shouldn't be feared and instead should be allowed to propagate out to the universe. Seeing how dangerous it was, they decided to contain the eye (not the sun) as well as the signal it was putting out. When they did so and got close, their visions showed them that the eye would be associated with the end of the universe. They saw the eye of the universe as something powerful and important, and went to travel to it. The owls (or whatever you want to call them) were a prophetic race. Most of these things are explained in the game, but it takes some putting together. Somehow the story here seems less consistent than for Outer Wilds. Is it possible to find "full" versions of all the partially burned tapes? There's a few where I only found the incomplete ones. What is the nature of the patrolling aliens in the VR world? Why do they want to kick the player out? If they were expecting visitors, then surely there was a better way to secure their VR than having people patrol it virtually? And why are there so much fewer of them in VR than skeletons around the fireplaces?. ![]()
